Island Eye Care is dedicated to delivering the best level of eye care available. There are two offices conveniently located in Kona and Waimea capable of providing the Big Island with a total range of medical and surgical eye care services.

Services include: comprehensive eye evaluations for adults and children, eyeglass prescriptions, diagnosis, management and medical treatment of eye conditions, cataract, glaucoma, and strabismus surgery, besides in-office minor surgery. Moreover, advanced laser technology is present in the office to treat all aspects of eye disease. Laser therapy, drainage of styes, and removal of pterygiums/eyelid lesions can be accomplished in the office.

Your exam will include a thorough check for eye diseases including cataracts and glaucoma. Also, scrutiny for any eye manifestations of systemic diseases including diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, neurological processes, arthritis, etc, is part of the process.

Your pupils may be dilated, and this may cause some temporary blurry vision and light sensitivity. If you do not bring your own sunglasses, the office can provide you with complimentary ones. It is advisable to have someone drive you home from your dilated eye exams.
